Over 20 years working in New York City’s fashion industry as an illustrator, fashion and technical designer have served Lisa McFadden well.  Between gigs, she branched out from making her now-iconic ‘CRUSH’ caps to launch her brand LISAMCFADDEN MILLINERY in 2014 and soon after joined the Milliners Guild.  A fashion design graduate with top honors, Lisa’s talent earned praise from legendary French couturier Pierre Cardin, who called her a designer who “knows her job”—a statement that proudly connects her to her family's creative history.  Lisa's headwear has been featured in media outlets such as Hatalk.com as a contributing writer, Vogue RunwayWWD, GoldenGlobes.com, Today's Black Woman, World Bride Magazine, and The Hat Magazine.  She continues to push the boundaries of millinery through bespoke collaborations with other designers and passion projects such as filmmaking and mentoring. She has created couture headwear for special installations including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and the Black Dress Project at Pratt Manhattan Gallery. Lisa McFadden works with Broadway's celebrated Arnold S. Levine Millinery and serves on the board of the Milliners Guild.
